Wasn't expecting to write this post.
But there it is. British Vogue. June 2026 issue. Page 214. Dad Dressed Me, in print, sitting next to fifteen other small kidswear brands from around the world.
If you'd told me three years ago, when I was sketching the first dolphin print at our kitchen table, that we'd be in British Vogue, I would have laughed and then probably cried.
How it happened
Vogue's Rays of Sunshine feature is a hand-picked round-up of small kidswear and baby brands worth knowing. Sixteen brands made the list this issue. Sri Lanka. Singapore. Ireland. Canada. The UK. And one tiny Aussie business packed in among them.
That's us. Run out of a warehouse by me and my husband Chris. Designed at our kitchen table. Packed by hand.
The print they picked
Of all the styles in the DDM range, Vogue picked our Little Dolphin Club Tee and Pants for the feature shoot.
The dolphin print was the first one I ever drew. It's the one I keep going back to. Soft cotton, blue jacquard dolphins, the kind of pattern that sits somewhere between an early-2000s swimwear catalogue and Saturday-morning cartoons. Mum and dad recognise it. The littles love it. It's quietly become our most-asked-about collection.
Vogue picking that one, of all things, felt right.
Why this matters to me
I started Dad Dressed Me because I was tired of kids' clothes that looked nothing like my own childhood. Tired of beige. Tired of plastic-feeling fast fashion. Tired of brands that talked to mums like dads weren't part of the equation.
So I made the brand I wanted to dress my own kids in. Cotton-first. Patterns pulled from our generation's photo album. Style for dad, quality for mum.
Being in British Vogue isn't just a brand moment. It's a flag in the ground for nostalgic Australian kidswear. It says the cotton-first, design-led, parent-friendly approach has a place on the world stage. Not just in our local market.
To everyone who got us here
To every parent who messaged us, "is the dolphin print back in stock yet?"
To every dad who ordered from his own phone (we see you, and yes, that win matters to us).
To every little one who's worn DDM to daycare, the park, nan's house, the beach.
To Chris, who packs every single order while I do everything else.
None of this works without you. Truly.
